In my opinion, Livia Cetti has the best instructions for beginners out of the books that I have. I am a tactile and visual learner, so any crafting book is a challenge for me because I need to see hands moving. I've taken a workshop with her as well as watched her videos on CreativeBug, so if you have trouble understanding written instructions I highly recommend watching tutorials.I love her style. She has her own way of confidently expressing her personal memory and knowledge of each flower. Each stands alone but with Livia Cetti, the sum of her work is greater than its parts. I love the usage of colors, so vibrant and bold. And her charm peony is my favorite depiction of peonies, even among the most realistic crepe ones.This second book has plenty of flowers. My favorites are the charm peony, bearded iris and daffodils. Expect more multi-headed stems in this book like the hydrangea!If your preference is hyper realism, and you have an attachment to certain plants, you might be disappointed by certain projects. My friend who was looking over my shoulder, "That's not a [enter specimen]'s leaf!"I love her leaves. I think her treatment and method of them bring cohesion to her bouquets and arrangements.She also primarily uses tissue paper. Her book shows you how to paint and bleach them. Tissue paper does lend a lovely transparency when combined with the bleach dye effect, which heightens realism. They do not look like tissue paper when assembled.A wonderful addition to anyone's paper flower bookshelf.
EDIT 2/27: I've deducted two stars because, while I hate this book, I have committed to making paper flowers for my wedding. I bought all the materials for just one flower from this book, so I have to at least use it a little bit. Already, these instructions are worse than they seemed initially. First, she gives very specific measurement instructions but then one of the petals for the peonies is about an inch too large for the instructions she is giving! I have gone online and found ten times better instructions through videos and pictured instructions, but I need to use this book for some other things. I do not recommend this book at all if you are a visual learner. Do not let the picture instructions fool you-- there are a lot of steps in between that are fiddly and specific yet are so poorly explained/ written, it is hard to mentally imagine it so you can follow along.This book is really fun, really interesting, and have *some* great fundamental instructions to make some beautiful flowers. All the pictures are really inspiring on what you can do.My biggest beef with this book is what Livia DOESN'T show you-- and some of it is really important stuff. The "step-by-step" pictures sometimes skip ahead just a little too much for full comprehension. And, that wouldn't be such an issue if her instructions weren't written so poorly. The instructions are dense and vague and ill-organized-- it really reads like one a teacher that is so well-versed in something, that when they explain it only makes sense to them and no one else-- they go way too fast and don't fully explain what they are doing. I even think I found a mistake in one of the material's measurements, I'm sure it has to be a mistake because it was such an illogical measurement. It was for the Rhododendrons complex stamen centers-- one of her measurements was for 12 **12"x9"** 18-g stems... (what does that 12"x9" mean?! The amount makes sense, the gauge makes sense but that measurement...not so much. That can't possibly be the measurement for pre-taped wire stems?!-- if someone can tell me what this means I will be so thankful) And the way this measurement is written doesn't seem to be a mistake at all, because it gives the centimeter conversion for that! I tried endlessly searching for this information in the beginning of the book and in other flower instructions that may answer that question or give better context, but to no avail! No other wire measurements states that kind of measurement! And, some of the basic instructions regarding wire, petal cutting techniques, and other stuff regarding preparing the materials in specific flower instructions before putting them together are hardly shown to not-at-all. If you want to get any of the nitty-gritty stuff, it is all hidden in the really hard to follow instructions or spread out to other parts of the book. This book is half-way organized, unfortunately.It saddens me to say that something is poorly written or ill-organized in this kind of book because the whole point is to learn something, and to complete something as it should be done. You would think that more effort would it put into the instructional-learning part, and not just taking great pictures of the projects. It has so many great projects in here that are worth doing and I really want to learn them! A direct word to Livia Cetti-- I would have gladly paid more money for a more comprehensive, fatter, more instructional-picture heavy book rather than having to imagine some of the written instructions. I understand that sometimes books like these are shortened because publishers think that people won't buy them-- that isn't true. People who are interested in learning something love to have full references and sources. I would rather get my money's worth for complete instruction book rather than having to solve a flower math problem on my own. I would also suggest getting a proper editor in this piece because, even though you are so good at what you do-- it isn't easy to follow the majority of your instructions that aren't explicitly pictured.grrr....!!!
I usually don't write reviews... only if it is really really bad or really really good... I've been waiting for this book for months as I knew that Livia Cetti was writing a new one after "The exquisite book of paper flowers"... Her new book is as exquisite as her first one. I've just read it, and I already want to do all her gorgeous projects! The explanations are great, the photos are sublime... I am so happy!!! I've seen her on Creative Bug giving classes and I must say that she is so talented and so humble which is quite rare for an artist... I highly recommend her books!

I bought e-book version.I like all content but the picture qulity is very bad .I read the book on my cell phone but when i zoom in picture. I colud not see clearly detail in the picture.I'm so upset for the bad qulity pictures file.
