StopoverBruce came to Unitec University Auckland and gave a guest lecture on photo documentary to my 3rd Year BA Photography class. It was interesting to hear how this book came to be about Indian immigrants in Fiji working on sugar cane plantations. Gaining access to collect the photo's meant he developed relationships with those he documented. The racism they experience from the indigenous population is another underlying theme i personally see even though some of them are 6th generation! The book is produced on very nice paper meaning the BW images are almost gallery standard, I was able to see the book before I ordered it. Quality prints make this book a must for its subject and quality of print.
