I am a John Maxwell Certified Leadership Coach, Speaker and Trainer so I may appear biased, but I think this is a great book for many to start with on the topic of influence. Most people don't understand the important of influence and how they can influence others with having positional authority.I think John distills the essence of being a person of influence in a very consumable easy to understand approach. There are many more books appearing on this topic, and I've read most of them, but this is a great starting point for many.
AMAZING!!! This book will help you unlock your leadership skills in you. I have put the methods into practice and I have seen a difference. If I can sum up this book into one statement it would be"speak up to people".
I participated in a mastermind group that read two chapters a week and then discussed. I found the book to be brilliantly written and each layer adds to the one before.
A great book! No matter where you are at in life you should be able to glean positive and life changing nuggets of information from this book. I highly recommend this to people from several walks of life, including teachers, church leaders, law enforcement officers, and others.
This is an amazing book. There are chapter summaries at the end of each chapter and bullet points. Excellent book well worth the read.

How will you impact the lives of others?For anyone who works with groups of people (and especially youth) you will find this book to be a great addition to your library. I especially enjoyed the worksheets at the end of each chapter as they were tangible ways of putting theory into practice.This book is very easy to read, but as with most good books in this category, take notes or be willing to re-read chapters as there is almost too much good information. Most books offer nuggets--this one is a serious gold rush.The leadership team I work with spent two weeks on Chapter 3 (A person of influence has Faith in People). I thought this was one of the best chapters in any of Maxwell's books and this will become a permanent part of our leadership program.A great gift for graduating college students or folks newly elected to positions of leadership.
